History

Massari company was founded in the last years of the nineteenth century as “Ditta Vanetta of Massari & Figli“, from the name of the first founder and ancestor, and deals with galvanic treatments on metals. The activity continues also during the war periods and in the post-war period it is consolidated.

The first contacts with the nautical world date back to the early 60s with the interventions of repair and silvering of the cutlery and tableware supplied to the great transatlantic ships of Italy of Navigation (Michelangelo and Raffaello) and other companies, such as Lloyd Triestino and Adriatica.

Gradually the range of services on offer was increased and in the ‘70s it began repairing antique silverware and its collaboration with shipyards involved in the refurbishment of ships, became more and more frequent. During the 2004, for “Genoa: Capital of Culture”, the company was involved in the restoration of some of the furnishing in Palazzo Rosso and Palazzo Bianco, demonstrating that technical skills and enthusiasm when used with years of experience can once more bring to life the hand-made splendours of many years ago.
